SooVac Pop Up Shop
SooVAC is having a pop up shop this year right by Pat's Tap on 35th and Nicollet. I'm super excited to have a few little gouache paintings at the shop. Here's pictures of a couple of the paintings.
The shop will be open from Saturday November 17 through Monday December 24. Shopping hours are: Thursday-Friday from 4-8pm, and Saturday-Sunday from 11-3pm. Buy local art this holiday season!

Minnesotans United for All Families Mural
I wanted to post a few pictures from the mural I just completed for Minnesotans United for All Families. I had a great time painting this out at the State Fair and was happy to support such an important cause. If you happen to be at the Fair, check it out. It's on Cooper Street near Dan Patch.

Saint Valentine Video for Bekah Barnett
This is one of my favorite projects I've done this year. Bekah is a friend of mine and it was easy to convince her that daisies and lions were the perfect fit for the video. Over 3,000 drawings later we had a video. I hope you enjoy it. It's my first foray into video since the Quest trailer a couple years ago.
Plans Delayed
I have had the best of intentions to build my new website. I picked out my Wordpress template and everything, and then for over a year I have been stalling and getting busy with other projects and it just keeps getting pushed back. I stopped updating the blog because I was sure that any day now I was going to get that new website up.
But ultimately, other work needed to come first and here we are, over a year later, with no new blogs, which embarrassingly looks like no new projects. So, in realizing that I need to devote my time to things other than a new website, I'm posting this and will post a little bit of what happened this last year.
I'm still doing pet portraits as well as illustration, so if that's something you're interested in please use my contact form and get in touch!

Pet Portrait Frequently Asked Questions
The following Pet Portrait FAQ was put together to give you information on the process of getting a custom pet portrait made. If you have any additional questions feel free to send me an email via my contact form.
How much does it cost?
A portrait of a single pet is $75. Additional pets can be added to a portrait for $25.
What do I get for my money?
Your pet portrait will be created digitally. Each order comes with an 8" x 10" portrait and a digital file of the image on CD. You will be given the digital file to do whatever you like with, so if later you want to make pet portrait greeting cards or do other projects with the portrait on your own you can. You also have the option of creating a larger portrait for additional money. A 16" x 20" portrait will cost an additional $16. Feel free to ask if you would like a different size or shape of portrait and we will negotiate a fair price based on printing costs and labor. I can set up a custom portrait order for you on Etsy if you want something unusual.
What do you need to make the portrait?
The most important thing is having a clear picture of the pet without much obstruction. If you have several clear pictures that is even better. If you're having trouble getting a good photograph, taking your animal outside and into bright light often helps. If you would like a favorite toy included in the portrait I will also need a picture of the toy. Please also include information on color likes and dislikes, animal personality and so on. If you want to match the portrait to your decor send me a picture of the room the portrait is going in as well. Feel free to reference other portraits I've done when making a request on what kind of portrait you would like. The more information I have about what you would like, the better. If I don't feel like I have enough to work with I may also send you a follow up email with a few additional questions.
If I can't get a good picture of my pet, can you take a picture of my pet for me?
It depends on where you live. I am local to Minneapolis and am willing to travel within the Twin Cities metro area to take a picture of your pet to base the portrait off of. The cost for this service is an additional $45.
How long does the process take?
Once I have all the information from you and payment is made through Paypal, the process usually takes about a week to two weeks. If you need something faster email me and I'll let you know if I can get it to you quicker.
If I want an additional print later can I purchase one?
Of course. Contact me and I can send you an additional print. I will make a custom order for you to purchase your print through Paypal.
It seems like you mostly do portraits of dogs, can you do other animals?
Absolutely! I love all kinds of animals and would be thrilled to have the opportunity to do more portraits of cats, bunnies, horses or whatever kind of animal you have.
Can I give a portrait as a gift?
Yes, I think portraits make great gifts! Please let me know if you'd like me to ship the portrait to a different address than the billing address provided to me.

Saint Valentine Single Art
Recently I worked on album cover art for a song called Saint Valentine by the talented Bekah Barnett. Fun! The devil was her idea and I decided he should have wings. I like that he looks somewhat androgynous and pretty happy. I imagine that the devil is pretty satisfied with life in general.
